We need your support – volunteer with GIRLGUIDING DUNKELD and make a difference to the lives of our local girls. Make friends, build your confidence and empower girls and young women.

What will you do?
You will become part of a team to run a unit, plan meetings and deliver awesome activities. You will be supported to complete our Leader development programme.
We have a good support network of volunteers in Dunkeld and Birnam, but we need leaders who are willing to take front roles to make sure our units survive. Guides and Brownies currently have existing units, but without a qualified leader in charge, we will have to shut them down. Rainbows need to be started anew, as there hasn’t been a leader for a number of years. Girls are missing out –we have spaces for more girls in all our units, but we can’t invite them to join unless we have committed leaders in place.
What training and support do you get?
You will get a thorough introduction to your role and to Girlguiding and have lots of training opportunities, including e-learning and face-to-face sessions. When you start your Leader development programme, you will have a volunteer mentor to help you through the qualification. We will reimburse you for agreed expenses.
What qualifications, skills and attributes do you need?
You do not need to have had experience of Girlguiding before, but you’ll need to become a member now and complete our A Safe Space training and a disclosure check.
You need to be flexible and willing to get involved in a team and in activities with the girls. A sense of fun is a great asset. You will be willing to learn new skills and keep your current ones fresh.
We welcome volunteers of all ages 18+, of all backgrounds and of all faiths and none.
