At the Royal School of Dunkeld all the P6s got to go on a ski-ing trip to Glenshee for two days.
We travelled by mini bus or car, when we got there we were split into three different groups – the beginners, the ones who had skied once or twice (my group), and the experts. Each group had a different instructor.
On day one the weather was excellent but a wee bit too hot, on day two it was just perfect. It felt really good to be high up on the mountains. My group started on the small slopes but by the first morning we were on the big ones! As we moved on to the big slopes we found it much more fun; unfortunately there were still quite a few falls.By the end of the day we had done lots of Green slopes (Green- easy, Blue- medium, Red- difficult, Black- very difficult).
On the second day we headed up to the Green slopes for a little bit more practice before we went to our first Blue slopes. Everyone was enjoying themselves hugely, including the people in other groups. There were snowboarders as well as the skiers, they went zooming past you! By the end of day two our group had done a Red slope that went over a poma (pomas are things which pull you up the hill)! Still we had had lots of falls but we were getting better every minute.
It was fantastic to be allowed to go on a ski-ing trip and I think we all want to do it more often. Overall we all had a great time, we enjoyed every moment!
