On Friday 29th September the Royal School of Dunkeld again remembered former pupil Robbie Melvin who died in a tragic accident in 2005. Robbie's mother Kate and brother Stuart visited the school to present a cheque for £300 towards sports and recreation equipment for the school. This money comes from the huge fundraising done by Kate, her family and many local friends in Robbie’s memory towards the building of an indoor sports hall locally.
House Captains Eliza McDonald and Roddy Campbell are shown receiving the cheque from Kate and Stuart, along with acting Head Teacher Julie Menzies. Each year a cup for “good citizenship “is also given in Robbie’s memory and this year it was awarded to Molly Gauld, now at Breadalbane Academy.
Anyone who would like to learn more about the sports hall project is welcome to contact Alasdair Wylie, Secretary, Dunkeld and Birnam District Leisure Group on 01350 727361 or awylie2002@yahoo.co.uk
