Highland Perthshire Ladies Football Club welcomes any new players in the area who would like to join us for training and games on Wednesday evenings from 6.15pm at the Recreation Ground in Birnam.
We are an informal team of all ages and abilities and enjoy getting together for a kick about on a (usually) sunny evening. Some of us had barely kicked a ball before joining (and still struggle with this on occasion!) others would not look out of place in the national team!
We also have players from all over the globe joining us at the moment with Denmark, Hungary, Scotland, England, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Ireland, South Korea, and Germany all represented. We were fortunate to receive fantastic coaching from Terry Young, Joel Jameson and Jamie Beazley; the team would like to thank them all for giving up their time each week and getting us started. We are now thrilled to have new coach, John Quigley, putting us through our paces every Wednesday.
HPLFC have played Comrie womens team a couple of times (3-1 Home, 1-3 Away, decider match to be arranged!) and would love to organise more games. We would also like to keep the momentum up throughout the year and need enough people playing to help set up our floodlights in the winter months.
We are particularly grateful to SSE and the Community Coucil for providing the funding for floodlights, strips and footballs.
Please pop along any Wednesday to give it a go, don't worry if you have never played before! Visit our facebook page and/or call 07999 585732 to be added to our whatsapp group and keep up to date with our weekly plans.
