Dunkeld & District Strathspey & Reel Society

Held their annual grand fiddle extravaganza at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Sunday 10th September. It was an evening of superb music performed by the society (augmented by visiting players from as far north as Caithness and as far south as Galloway) and by special guest artistes Ross Ainslie (pipes & whistle), Aly Hutton (guitar) and Gary Innes (accordionist & compere).
The society has been in existence for over 80 years. It embraces a wide range of abilities and provides an ideal opportunity for players keen to develop their knowledge of Scottish music and to hone their skills in a very friendly environment. Rehearsals are held at The Royal School of Dunkeld on Mondays during school term time from 7.30pm. New members are always welcome (and not only fiddlers!). Interested? Then just come along on Monday and check it out.
