Walking with Ghosts & ‘Songs from the Mountains’ - Alan J. Laing & Kenneth Maciver
Tippermuir Books is delighted to host an evening of words and music @ The Birnam Reader (Station Road, Birnam). Come along and hear Alan read from and discuss his new book Walking with Ghosts: New Prose & Poetry from Perthshire & Beyond. And, listen to Kenneth Maciver sing from his repertoire of ‘Songs from the Mountains’. And, of course, enjoy a cup of great coffee/tea; and tuck in to some delicious homemade cakes.
Book your seat by visiting or messaging the Birnam Reader - www.facebook.com/ thebirnamreader/.
Alan J. Laing lives in Perthshire. In the last four years he has won three awards from Mountaineering Scotland for his fictional stories involving walking, climbing and mountains, as well as one award for poetry. Climbing and walking has been a lifelong hobby of his.
Kenneth Maciver is a classically-trained singer and a founder member of the Jambouree Choir. Kenneth has won a number of prestigious awards for his fine baritone voice, is in great demand as a soloist, and has sung with the Scottish National Orchestra.
‘Whether it’s high drama, Flight of fantasy or chuckling comedy, most of Alan’s writing relates to mountains and mountaineers, a world where he is completely at home.' Neil Reid, Mountaineering Scotland.
