Scottish Bible Society
First of all thank you so very much for all your contributions to the Society.
Contributions from our Parish and from visitors including foreign currency has gradually gone down over the last 9 years but now for the first time the annual giving is nearly back to the amount given then. Wonderful. It means that we can give bibles and bible extracts out to many more people, bringing the Word of God to them in written form - i.e. in their own language and very often printed in their own country thereby using print works there instead of importing them.
Think what it would be like never to have seen a bible but perhaps heard of it and wanting to find out more about the teachings of Jesus. Word of mouth is good but written it reaches far more people.
If you have foreign coins in a drawer perhaps or want to give in our own Sterling please use the can in the Cathedral or the little box in Little Dunked.
Things like watches and musical instruments or costume jewellery are very acceptable. They are repaired and sold for funds. You can give me these things too or leave them in a bag marked For Brenda in either Church or the D.A. They will get to the Society as soon as possible. Old bibles are accepted too.
