Community News

Can you help identify members of our Home Guard?

Murthly

Murthly have formed a History Group and are hoping to produce an illustrated Village History in the near future.
The Dunkeld Community Archive have produced this picture of the Dunkeld Home Guard which probably included some Murthly volunteers.
Major Colin Innes asked The Courier to publish the photograph in September last year and asked readers for any information about all those featured. Sadly there was little response.
Are there still some folk around Dunkeld who recognise perhaps the Officer Commanding or some of their relations. If so, please give Colin a ring on 07715-580268 for he would be most grateful for more information about the Dunkeld Home Guard.
