Visitor numbers at the Duchess Anne were well up on last year as were sales. Over 10 weeks we sold 415 pieces of work to the value of £32,500. There were 172 registered artists and 100 of them sold at least one piece of work with a number selling all their work and bringing in more.
The number of artists were down slightly on previous years. For the first time we had stained glass panels, fused glass items and small wooden toys which were all successful.
I would like to thank everyone who helped to keep the Exhibition going over the summer; from setting up, taking in pictures, stewarding, dismantling and handing back unsold work at the end.
Thanks also are due to our webmaster who has maintained the web page for a number of years now; Keith is only ever a click away by email if there are problems and with 172 artists trying to register over a 2 month period in April and May, quite often the web page is under pressure. However it is a much easier way of registering and showing the artists' work to people all over the world - this year we sold 3 pictures to a lady from the south of England straight from the web page. Often we get enquiries after the exhibition has finished and sometimes this results in a sale for the artist.
