Forestry Commission Review
Community Drop-in April 27th
Midday – 7pm, Birnam Arts Centre
The Forestry Commission will be undertaking a full review of the management plans for the Craigvinean and Ladywell blocks this year and as part of the process will be looking to consult with the local community to help inform management direction where possible.
There will be a drop-in session at the Birnam Arts Centre on April 27th from 12:00 to 19:00 as a forum for community members to discuss anything they want to face-to-face.
If you would like to get in contact regarding the plan, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the Tay Forest District office.
Plan progress and documentation will be kept up to date on the Forestry Commission website http://scotland.forestry.gov.uk/managing/plansand-strategies/land-anagement-plans/consultations/1966-craigvinean-ladywell-land-management-planconsultation
Planting has begun to restock the area felled on safety grounds next to the A9 in the Autumn.
Forestry Commission staff lead children from the Royal School at Dunkeld over 2 days to plant a range of native broadleaved trees. The planting design is currently being finalised following over 20 responses to recent community engagement and will prescribe predominantly native broadleaved planting with suitable wayleaves left for the overhead electricity lines and underground gas main. Planting will be finished by the FC this Spring to ensure a quick re-greening of the site.
