Deaf, Daft & Ditsy set out to raise funds for Riding for the Disabled
In August, Karen Inkster from Caputh is setting off with her dog and horse to ride/walk the length of the Outer Hebrides Islands in Scotland. She will be unsupported, carrying all her own camping and corralling equipment.
The ride is approx 270km and will take approx 16 days.
Karen is fundraising for the local Riding for Disabled Group in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, of which she is the Chairperson. The dog, Pip, and horse, Connie, are rehomed animals. Karen says “Pip is deaf and Connie is a bit ditsy, so we are called the Deaf, the Daft and the Ditsy!” Karen has set up a Facebook and Just Giving page set up and has already raised over £600. She is hoping to raise a further £2000.
She will be start her trip in Vatersay and make her way slowly north to Lewis. She will be self sufficient, carry a tent, stove and coral equipment.
