Pitlochry Station Bookshop
The Bookshop is now operating summer opening hours.
This means that on Sundays until the end of September, the shop will be open for sales and donations from 11.00am until 3.00pm. This is in addition to our normal hours from Monday to Saturday of 9.00am to 4.30pm.
The end of the financial year allows us to look back at our fund-raising. Since 2006 we have raised a total of £208,371 from selling on the books which have been donated to us.
This sum has been divided equally amongst different charities. Some have received less money that others simply because they joined our list at later dates.
The list of charities with money received from the Bookshop is:
Cancer Research UK £37,356; Children’s Hospice
Association (CHAS) £37,235; Highland Perthshire
Shopmobility £37,190; Mercy Corps £37,100; Scotland’s
Charity Air Ambulance (since 2014) £22,100; Tayside
Mountain Rescue (since 2016) £6,200; Amnesty
International (2006-2016) £31,190.
More details about the work of each charity are on the Bookshop website at: www.pitlochrystationbookshop.co.uk
We hope that our customers, book donors and volunteer workers are pleased that all our efforts have made such significant contributions to the work of the charities. Thank you. We look forward to everyone’s continued support in the future.
