Heritage Walks

heritagewalksYou will have seen blue plaques going up in Dunkeld and Birnam over the past few months and these are linked with two beautiful Heritage Walks leaflets produced by local people. These are available from a variety of outlets in Dunkeld and Birnam and if you want to find out more about our local history, it is well worth following the walks around the village. It is hoped that this project will also encourage visitors to stay longer in the area and explore the village.
The launch of the walks was on Saturday 2nd September and featured many of the historical characters featured on the plaques. We would like to thank everyone who dressed up to play the part of famous people who are part of our history, from Beatrix Potter to Queen Victoria, from Robert Burns to Niel Gow and all those who researched and produced the maps and plaques.
