Girlguiding Dunkeld – Join Us

girlguides1Did you like the report of the Guides’ and Senior Section’s trip to Switzerland? Would you be prepared to support the existing leaders in their efforts – be it at weekly meetings, camps, or behind the scenes? Without more volunteers, Girlguiding in Dunkeld cannot offer all interested girls the chance to have such experiences. We already don’t have any Rainbows, and for now can’t have a Brownie pack bigger than 8 girls, because there is only 1 Brownie leader. Guides and Senior Section need more helpers too, to spread the load.

Our volunteers can work directly with Rainbows (aged 5-7), Brownies (4-10), Guides (10-14), The Senior Section (14-17), or in a variety of support roles.
Volunteering is flexible and can be arranged to fit around a busy lifestyle.
There is no upper age limit to becoming a Girlguiding volunteer, and men are welcome too as Unit Helpers or in other support roles. Volunteers under the age of 18 can become Young Leaders. Training will be given – mostly it’s on the job; there are also e-learning opportunities and local training sessions, depending on the role you choose to take on.

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. If you’re looking to work with young people, gain voluntary experience or develop skills from first aid to fundraising (and all sorts in between), it’s time to get involved! If you are not convinced yet, look out for the National Recruitment Campaign by Girlguiding UK during October.
