Thought for the Month

totmWhere ever I am in the world on the sabbath I experience the beauty of creation more intensely than on any other day, even if there is no building to enter creation becomes my church.
I am on Orkney in a bad storm at present, I am blessed to be safe and cozy in the cottage.
The news has come on my radio about yet another war and my heart cried for the world ; my eyes produced rivers of tears too. I looked out of my window and this thought expressed itself :
Howling wind and white horses atop the bay of Ireland’s waters rise and herald God’s presence.
Hoy’s hills are cloaked and Spirit like,
The lights on the tall towers blink to tell the seekers to keep a watchful reverence.
The Orkney sabbath has a natural altar and I am enveloped in prayer so powerful it takes my breath and along with it my innermost desires for peace in this world.
Peace be with you where ever you may be.
